The shots that got away… October 2013

The skies are starting to get very exciting here in Darwin. Our storm season has set in quite early, and we have already had quite a lot of rain which is unusual for so early in the season.

The landscape is now fluro-green after having a soaking – after several months with no rain (literally). Things are looking great! The sunsets are stunning, the clouds are awesome and the lightning is testing my patience!

I’ve been asked by a lot of people to do a tutorial on lightning photography, but to be honest I really don’t feel I am experienced enough in the field to be offering advice. I miss the opportunity 9 times out of 10! Getting in the right place is a challenge for me. My next blog will be about lightning (not a tutorial as such), but I will share my useful resources with you – how I go about trying to catch the lightning shots!
